New
Prospect Baptist Church has a history dating back to 1849. In the past
150 years, we have developed a church body of approximately 478 resident
members and 108 non-resident members. We have an average attendance in
Sunday School of 150+. New Prospect is conveniently located in the town of Hurt, Virginia. Hurt is a small community located off of Route 29 approximately 25 miles south of Lynchburg and 40 miles north of Danville. Our map can give you more precise driving directions.
We offer Sunday School ministries for all ages and walks of life. We are proud that our Sunday Schools not only worship and learn together, but we also have fun together and look for ways to reach out into the community.
Currently, New Prospect has four paid employees. Our Pastor Brady Willis has been leading us since January 1, 1997. Luann Lee is our secretary who takes care of all our administrative needs. Annette Shelton has been our part-time youth minister since June of 2000. Jim Manuel is our Associate Minister of Family.
Church members who love the Lord and look for ways to serve him staff all of our other ministries.
